MGT Study 2014

MGT of America, Inc., a nationally recognized consulting firm, is conducting a study of the utilization of Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) for Denver Public Schools.

The study will examine:

  1. The procurement of services and products for the district

  2. The subcontracting practices of prime contractors/vendors who do business with the district

  3. The anecdotal evidence collected from a broad cross section of MWBE and non-MWBE firms.

Public Forum

A public forum will be conducted by MGT of America. DPS has partnered with MGT of America to conduct an assessment of DPS’ current procurement practices and business diversity program. As part of this assessment, MGT will gather input from DPS vendors and community stakeholders who have participated in the construction procurement process with DPS.

Phase 1

The first phase will include policy interviews, a remedial program review, geographical market area, availability, utilization, and disparity analyses, and findings and recommendations.

Phase 2

The first phase will include policy interviews, a remedial program review, geographical market area, availability, utilization, and disparity analyses, and findings and recommendations.

Goals Committee

DPS has gathered nine members of Denver construction and construction-related professional service businesses to serve on an advisory committee to help set MWBE goals for upcoming projects funded by the 2012 Bond Program.

Mission of the Committee: To provide input and recommendations on the goals for minority and women owned business participation for Bond-funded projects, should a pending disparity study demonstrate a need.
